This is why it will never happen. The UFC doesn't co-promote. If Fedor wants to have the biggest fights ever, he needs to drop his management team. Say anything you want about Dana White and his negotiation style or his attitude--this is the kind of demand that is a non-starter. Co-promoting with M-1 doesn't help Fedor, it helps his manager, who runs that company.

Fedor is his managers pawn. It is a joke.

Doesn't his contract expire in October with them, though? There was a thread over @ sherdog saying it was a 6 fight, two year deal he signed in October of 2007. So we could still possibly see Fedor/Brock @ the NYE event.

I think Randy would get first crack at him. At least I hope so. That would make it easier to build him up to a title fight.

Fedor doesn't seem like he'll fire his manager anytime soon. Fedor would rather enjoy ice cream and train while someone else takes care of the business side, no matter how bad they are at it.

Re: Fedor in the UFC: not unless he fires his manager

I read a great idea on the UG here.

Basically, it's to have Fedor & Brock as opposing TUF coaches and the season would be Russia vs. USA.

Not only would it be a fantastic way to integrate some of the Red Devil fighters into the UFC, if that is a stipulation of Fedor's contract, but it would be instant heat with the cold war overtones. Plus Brock as a coach = money. The guy is a nut and the perfect foil to Fedor's even temperament.

I don't like that idea. Brock is a douche bag, I couldn't stand weeks of him. And Fedor seems too boring for reality tv like that.

I don't think it was sherdog, but I was reading somewhere yesterday saying that Dana White was/is going to send Randy Couture to negotiate with Fedor.

is Fedor's english good enough for him to be a coach? I guess it wouldn't matter if he were coaching a team of russian fighters.

Oh shit. Aleks stepping up to the plate.

I wish we knew what was wrong with him, I'd love to see him in the UFC.

Come on Aleks, convince your brother!

Yeah, Hep-B was the rumour but the Athletic Commission never said it outright. It seems unlikely he'll ever be able to fight in America if that is the case--which means we won't see him in the UFC.

You think Fedor is reluctant to fire his management team because they have some shady mob ties and Fedor might get a hit put on him if he does leave or hes just insanely loyal to his management team.

Well Fedor has supposedly made millions of dollars yet he lives in a shack in some shit town in Russia, wears shit clothes, and trains on a local schoolground.

I think how Fedor dresses is just how most eastern europeans dress. My buddy is from a former soviet bloc and his dad dresses like Fedor and sort looks like him too.
