Just heard the news. I knew he wasn't doing too well, but this still shocks me regardless.

It was a privilege to have someone like him commanding the defense for so many years. He produced 26 Pro Bowlers on defense, and was truly one of the best in the business.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

    RIP Jim Johnson

    :sigh:

    Sad news.

I didn't expect him to die like this. Wow.

It's weird though, he was present at the optional/rookie camps, but he was coaching in a stroller. That wasn't too long ago, and I thought he was doing better. I had some hope he would actually coach next year. It sucks that he took a turn for the worse. The coaches and players always spoke very highly of him. He was a great coach, but a great person as well. May he rest in peace.

The NFC's lost its three best D-coordinators over this offseason. Johnson (death), Kiffin (Tennessee), and Spagnuolo (head coaching).

As a rival fan, I'll fully admit how good Johnson was. He was the only thing making Andy Reid look competent the last couple years.
