- Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc has again ruled out the departure of Marouane Chamakh to Sunderland by insisting he will only let the striker join a "big club". Chamakh, who has also been linked with Arsenal, has claimed Sunderland are the team with whom he has had the most advanced talks - Arsenal utility player Emmanuel Eboue is set to become the latest player to leave the Gunners by signing a five-year deal with Fiorentina. His transfer fee is rumoured to be about £9-million
Eboue is better than most people give him credit for. He is one of the more versatile role players in the epl. It'll be interesting where florentine plans on playing him.
Yeah, well most of the Arsenal fans who have lost faith in the manager--I don't know how the fuck they do that. Eboue is our most versatile player and we will miss the depth he gives us in the midfield. But if he goes for around 10m then we really can't say no.
wow, an arsenal fan that likes him!? haha, i agree 10 million is too good to pass up. I just love a guy like eboue, he can help a team from so many areas. If he just focused on doing one thing, like he did early in his career on defense, he can be a pretty special player
- By signing Peter Crouch (Portsmouth), Tottenham have taken themselves out of the race for Dutch striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar (Real Madrid). Arsenal has become the favourite to land the £17million-rated forward. Wenger could wait a few more weeks to finalize this signing.
- Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says he is still interested in signing Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but any move for the Dutch international will depend on Darren Bent leaving White Hart Lane - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants Patrick Vieira to return to the Gunners - four years after the 33-year-old Inter Milan midfielder left for Juventus. And Wenger is willing to match Tottenham's offer, which is believed to be a one-year deal with big bonuses - Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is keen to add more English players to his squad and is preparing a £12m bid for Wigan midfielder Lee Cattermole and will offer Hull £5.5m for defender Michael Turner - However, any deal for Cattermole and Turner is dependent on the sale of Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid but the clubs are close to a £30m deal for the 27-year-old - Newcastle have accepted a £9m bid from Wolfsburg for 24-year-old striker Obafemi Martins
Cattermole is just the English Mascherano to me. Turner is a player I like a lot but Hull would be mad to sell him, especially since they can't buy anyone. We will get Turner end of this season when Hull go down I reckon.
If they just spent all that money to get Peter Crouch to be their tall striker (when they already had one), why would Tottenham go get another tall striker in Huntelaar?
I thought the Spurs were trying to have an English team (in lieu of having a successful one)? Let's see: would he rather play alongside Robin van Persie in the starting lineup of a team that will be in the CL and has a chance at silverware this season, or on a middling team that couldn't even qualify for the UEFA?
Spurs always seem to have a shitload of money yet they can't do anything with it. Really interesting rumors about Viera. I wouldn't mind him coming back, but does he have what it takes?
- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks set to step up his interest in Bordeaux's £12-million rated Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh - Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is targeting Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi, with the Italian star valued at around £30-million - It looks like a busy time for the Gunners with St Etienne's defensive midfielder Blaise Matuidi being lined up for a move, while midfield legend Patrick Vieira is set to return and be his mentor
- AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi, 26, has ruled out a potential move to English Premier League side Arsenal, insisting he has no intention of leaving his home-town club. "Arsenal?
