Maybe those of you who dont have CSN will now be able to watch a good online feed of the games. http://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/article/60855 http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/30/sports/basketball/30espn.html http://articles.latimes.com/2008/jan/18/sports/sp-nbatv19 http://www.nba.com/news/turner_deal_080117.html
So basically, the Zers can show our broadcast at Blazers.com? How will this effect the ratings? I get the league pass every year and last year loved watching other teams games while I was on the road in my hotel room, can I still do that?
The thing I'm afraid of is that the Comcast will restrict the content to Comcast cable internet subscribers ...
I dont think Comcast can do that. My guess is that it would be available to everyone. Doubt it. Why would they?
Well, if the did show all games online, then that would make League Pass broadband useless. I am really hoping there are no blackout restrictions.
I'm proud to say that the current total amount of money that I've cost Comcast this year is approx. 13k, possibly more.
Comcast has a deal right now that you can get the digital starter package, usually $57, for $29.99 for 12 months. No commitment after that 12 months and no other fees except for installation, but they have a $75 rebate that will cover that. That's not HD, from what they said it'd cost 7-10 bucks more for HD. I know that doesn't help anyone that can't get Comcast where they are at, but I'm seriously considering doing it. The deal only lasts until July 31st.
I bet they will, League Pass is useless to me because it blackouts the Blazer games because i am in Blazer territory, even though Comcast isn't available here, bet this will be the same.
I really don't see how this is positive. Like a poster said up above, this just allows the comcast monopoly to further control the broadcasts.
I know the League Pass TV version runs about $190/season. Does anyone know how much League Pass Broadband typically runs?
I bought it last year and it was between 80-90 bucks I think and thought it was well worth it, especially if your an NBA junkie like myself.
It says that they don't expect any local streaming online for this season in the article tho.. dammit..
