Yea just like the chances of Danny Ainge walking away were almost zero. When you burn bridges with players, they stay on the other side of the bridge.

Danny Ainge wasn't even a starter for the Blazers. He wasn't looking for max money with max raises, either.

    Totally different set of circumstances.

Are you comparing Brandon Roy with Danny Ainge?

    Damn.

I was hoping we'd make a move (trading JB for a big) to make room for Petteri.

Apparently, KP and Nate are still scheming to get Kobe, and may be willing to give up LaMarcus or Brandon to get him.

    Despicable!

You are just crazy. Kobe said he was not coming here if Sergio was on the roster and would compete with him for minutes. Now that these bastards moved his real competition for fame and clout - expect a bombshell announcement...

Why in the world would you want to watch the team if Roy and LA aren't on it?

If those two players are resigned, Portland doesn't have a plan B to replace either one of them.

I don't believe Portland will let that happen. But if it does, and neither player is wearing a Blazer uni in the 2010-2011 season, you can have my tickets.

Probably for the same reason that I watched the team for 15 Years without them on the team. I'm a Blazer fan and I love my team. I still loved my team when Sebastian Telfair was our starting PG. I loved this team through the Jail Blazer era. I loved them as a kid even when James Robinson was on this team. Hell I even cheered for Rick Brunson, and Randolf Childress. That is why I will still continue to cheer and watch even if Roy and LA arent here (even though I want them to be) I appreciate the offer on the tickets though, can someone else witness this? :)

and of course when 33 year old backup Ainge was allowed to walk as a FA, they replaced him/upgraded with 26 year old FA Rod Strictland who started.

Not comparable at all. An ultra-athletic, explosive first step, ice in his veins clutch, liquid handle, ankle breaking crossover and devastating midrange and driving game B-Roy <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< over the hill, roleplaying, whining biter who goes on to denigrate KP and Portland due to rage over tanking and missing out on Oden.

Clearly Ainge walking was a disaster for the franchise. Not sure we would even miss Roy.

Plenty of season tickets were available for cheap during the Telfair years, but you'll wait until LMA/Roy are gone and prices are higher to finally buy some?

If Portland let's both Roy and LA walk, that means they have no intention of ever really being competitive. I have this team for years, through thick and thin. They have always at least been trying to win. If they decide they don't care about winning and care more about money, then it is a fundamental shift from the Blazers of the past.

It really wouldn't be the same team any more.

KP is the anti BC. colangelo drafts bargnani over roy and aldridge; colangelo is probably the most aggressive gm in the league while KP is deliberate.

This is ludicrous to even speculate about. We might as well wonder what would happen if Nate slept with all the players wives/girlfriends and what that would do to team chemistry. Or if Roy/Oden/Aldridge all signed up for a grenade eating contest. The chances of Portland letting LA/Roy walk are roughly equivalent to my chances of landing a date with Megan Fox, toe-thumb and all...

I completely agree. For all the talk I hear about KP being a wheeler and a dealer most of it is just that, talk. Sure he's aggressive in trading for draft picks and moving up and down the draft ladder in recent years, but that's a bit like trying to call yourself a high roller because you play the nickel slots for days on end in Vegas.

On the other hand you usually only see GMs get really aggressive with massive roster overhauls when their team is struggling to get over or shows signs of falling apart. Colangelo has to be aggressive right now because the Raps just came off of a massively disappointing season. I'd be worried if KP was looking to completely overhaul the team right now.
