Which team will grab the final playoff spot in the East?Sixers Record: 36-41Bulls Record: 35-41Sixers remaining schedule New Jersey@Miami@ OrlandoNew Jersey@CharlotteBulls remaining schedule:New Jersey@ AtlantaWashington@ Miami@ OrlandoTorontoIt should be interesting but I think Chicago will take the final spot. They have an easier schedule.
I actually think Sixers will, they both play three of the same teams, Sixers already took one win, puts pressure on Bulls.Wiz and Raps won't be easy for Bulls as well. Should be interesting, but I'm pulling for Sixers so I could actually go to a playoff game despite it being Sixers.
I'll take Philly. They may have an easier schedule, but i don't think AI will leet the sixers lose. i say the finish with one more loss, @NJN.
The Bulls have the easier schedule, and being a Sixers fan, I honestly believe the answer to this question relies solely on the health of one Chris Webber.Webber has missed the past two games (@ Chicago, vs. Washington) due to a lower back strain, and Hunter has been absolutely terrific in his absence. The Hunter/Dalembert starting combination has flourished, combining for 40+ points and 40+ rebounds in the past two games... both of which were big victories for the Sixers. In those two games, the defense has looked a lot better, with players making the necessary rotations and plays, and the offense has been terrific as well. The ball is being moved around more, and players are getting more touches. If Webber returns, the Sixers will resort to their two-man offense and bad defensive ways, resulting in them missing the playoffs. I'd much rather see him sit out a few more games... or atleast not get as many minutes as he normally does once he returns from injury. If you asked me this before the game in Chicago, I would have said the Bulls, but it is totally up in the air at this point. The Sixers have a 1/2 game lead right now, and are only 1 game back of sixth-seed Indiana. The pressure right now is on the Bulls, because they have the easier schedule, and they are also 1/2 a game out.The funny thing is that both of these teams might end up making it, and Milwaukee or Indiana might be on the outside looking in (doubtful, but it could happen). Also, one of these two teams may be seeded as high as sixth before its all said and done.
Bulls definately have an easier schedule. I will post what I think will hapen here.I think the Sixers will get a loss against New Jersey, Miami and New Jersey again. I have them going 2-3.As for the Bulls, I think they will lose to Washington and Miami so I think they will go 3-2.What do they do as a tie breaker???
it goes to their record head-to-head. If that's a tie, it's determined by record in division. This is where it really hurts the Bulls.
I'll have to go with the 76ers... even though theyre not my favorite. their division almost clinches it, if it comes down to it.but i'm rooting for chicago! GO BULLS!

Im gonna have to go with Chicago here. I think theyre the better team and they have been playing better basketball as of late. I would rather have a team with players like Ben Gordon and Hinrich surrounded by solid role players like Nocioni, Deng and Chandler than two stars like Iverson and Webber in a team that hasnt proven to me that they play well together...
Chicago with an impressive win tonight over New Jersey.Ben Gordan came up crazy clutch.I said when I started this thread that I thought Chicago would pull it out. I think I am going to be right. This puts them in the 8th spot considering they hold the tiebreaker over Philly
Chicago isnt playing great as of late..They are 6-6 in their last 12..It just happens to be that everyone else is playing terrible, as well..So Chicago isnt playing great, theyre not playing as bad as the other teams in the runnig for the last couple spots..

i'm continually becoming more impressed by Nocioni. He's really stepping up, especially on the boards.

I know the season series between Chicago and Philly is tied at 2-2, but I've heard that Chicago has the tiebreaker and that Philly holds the tiebreaker (from the same source)... so I'm not really sure. I tried looking it up on the internet, and the Denver Nugget's site says that the first tiebreaker is best head-to-head record, and the second is better conference record. If that's the case, then Chicago has the tiebreaker. But like I said... I've heard from many places that both teams have the tiebreaker advantage, but at this point I've heard that so many times that I'm completely clueless as to what the true tiebreaker is and who actually holds the advantage there.
I read from a few papers and also heard during one of the Bulls games that the Bulls hold the tiebreaker becuz of their conference record. You cant really bring in division record because they are both from different divisions so it wouldnt really be fair.

Big win for Philly tonight. They're just slaughtering the Nets.
Yeah not happy with the way the Nets are looking..I dont think they really care at this point nothing to gain or lose the rest of the way..
yeah i guess they're just relaxing for the moment. I watched part of the game and JKidd, Vince, and RJ were all on the bench. But by that point Philly had already stacked up a big lead.Chicago also won tonight. They beat Atlanta 96-90.
