The UFC has picked up Paul Buentello, adding to the cadre of fighters they've rescued from the Affliction fallout (including Rothwell, Gormley, Belfort, Lauzon, Oliveira, and possibly Daley). I don't know how they are going to use him. Buentello is best known for his 15-second knockout loss to Andrei Arlovski at UFC 55. He had two wins for Affliction--a sluggish slugfest against Gary Goodridge and a similar bout against Baby Fedor, Kirill Sidelnikov. The WEC has signed Mark "The Machine" Hominick who will be a welcome addition to their stacked featherweight division. The WEC also signed LC Davis and Javier Vazquez earlier this week. Hominick once competed in the UFC as a lightweight with mixed results. He is an exciting fighter but is not as well rounded as he needs to be to be a top contender in that division. His ground game needs work desipte being best known for a triangle choke submission win over Yves Edwards at UFC 58. Hominick also has a win over Jorge Gurgel.
wooo hoo, The Headhunter is back in the UFC!!! alright so he won't be challenging for the title any time soon, but Paul's one of the first fighters I got behind and hell he even sent me a free Paul Buntello t-shirt all the way from Cali for being so cool on his site's forums
