Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't McCants a FA? And NOBODY in the league is tryna sign him?? Why don't we get on that? He could be a serviceable SG behind Kobe.
There's no room for him. Kobe's going to take up the majority of the minutes at SG, and I'm pretty sure Shannon Brown will be splitting minutes at backup PG/SG all season. If Sasha finds his shot again, that's an added bonus. Not to mention AMMO tore up the Summer League, and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a couple minutes here and there. McCants has attitude problems, and he's a chucker. I doubt he'd fit in well with the triangle. If we want to sign another player I'd rather us sign another big. If we want another guard, I'd go after Rodney Carney.
He is....awful. You don't want him, trust me. He's a chucker who refuses to play defense, and he seemed to be a guy the players didn't get along with very well.
From what I watched last year of him on the Kings, he actually helped improve the Kings so called "defense" and shot really good for them. McCants isn't going to go out there and be an all-around player, but the guy can score....something the Lakers don't need IMO.
We don't need him. He's not a very good defender and we are loaded with scoring talent. He'd also have no spot in the guard rotation.
No one's picking him, but, just like others said, I don't think we should too. No minutes left for him, so he might just whine and ruin our team.
