The Bulls withdrew their multi-year offer to Ben Gordon, he wanted to resign with them as a RFA.

I can't think of any examples of a near-max player taking a qualifying offer during RFA.

    Good point.

It just doesn't happen. I have no reason to believe Roy is going to buck this trend.

There has been serious and positive movement in the negotiations between Roy and the Blazers. It will get done soon and then the team will take care of LMA.

Now that's out of the way, can we get back to mocking the Griz for being such a joke of a franchise?

Look, I am not thrilled with the Roy and LA situations, but to compare the Blazers to the Grizzlies is insane.

At least by 2001-2002 Portland was on the downside of a real championship run. The Grizzlies are a sad exercise in futility disguised as an NBA team. I would think the only group they would bother keeping around would be college scouts since will be spending every single off season in the foreseeable future in the lottery.

This is a team that should be either contracted or forced to be sold to a guy who actually gives a shit. The current situation is absurd. Do they have even one fan?

Agreed. Soime people around here don't seem to realize how good we have it for a small market team. The team won 54 games last season, and will only be better this coming season. We have a roster full of young talent and some great veteran role players. Most of all, we have an owner that is committed to winning and willing to put his money where his mouth is. I am thankful each and every day that Paul Allen, and not Michael Heisley or Donald Sterling, owns the Portland Trailblazers. For those who like to piss and moan about our current "situation", I recommend you consider the alternatives. I understand that some fans are upset that the Roy and Aldridge negotiations are still going on, but as long as both sides are talking, there's a good chance it will all get resolved soon.

On second thought, if my scouting staff suggest I draft Thabeet, I would probably fire the lot of them as well.

What a horrible pick by a horrible team! A Grizzly fan has to be someone who loves getting kicked in the balls.

Just wait until they let Gay walk because they have Stat-Bo on the books for the next 3 years. Total nut punch.
