Where do you keep your various booze? I usually just throw liquor in the freezer. is that bad for it? I would think it would be ok for vodka but I just put whiskey and tequila in there too.

I throw wine and champagne in the fruit and veggie bin in my fridge and beer next to the water.

I put white wine and champagne in my fridge (i only have a bottle or two of each). Vodka and Jager in the freezer. Everything else (whiskey, rum, gin, red wine) I keep in a cupboard out of the way.

Oh, yeah. I try to keep beer in the fridge, too, although I don't drink the stuff.

I keep my hooch in various places around the house.

Beer in the kitchen fridge, in the beer fridge next to the bar as well as in the kegerator under the bar

Wine and champagne in the wine refrigerator in the bar

Vodka, Jager and Goldschlager in the freezer next to the bar

Everything else behind the bar in the basement. I also keep some vodka at room temperature. For those looking to build a liquor collection, here's a tip: When you get married, tell your wife it's better to buy your own booze than buy it from the reception hall. Then buy every kind of top level hooch you can think of. Finally, tell the bartender to open every bottle so it can't be returned. I was married three years ago and I'm still drinking wedding liquor.

That's genius. However, when the cost of your reception is the $50 cake, one is out of luck. Therefore, all of my alcohol is self-purchased (though after getting my bar license, I have a bit more of an excuse to "test things out". Have to have product knowledge, right?)

Though I'm still not touching absinthe.

I actually like my gin in the freezer. I like the martinis as cold as I can get them, especially in the summer.

    2 shots Gordons gin
    3 ounces vermouth
2 olives stuffed with blue cheese

Slap that shit in a tall glass, fill it to overflowing with ice, and stir it with your finger. Mmmmmmm mmmmmm. Tasty.

I haven't used my shaker in about a year. I figured out that the ice shavings tend to melt faster, leading to a warmer martini and a less pleasant drinking experience.

Even though it's stupid cheap, Gordon's is actually a pretty nice gin. It'll take the Pepsi challenge against a Boodles or Bombay Saphire any day.

Vodka/Gin in freezer, but I rarely have either. I've had a bottle of Ketel One in the freezer for about a year now, and there is still 1/3 left of it.

Beer (Bud and a local IPA) always on hand in the garage fridge for company/neighbors on a hot Saturday.

Red wine on the wine rack.

White wine is my wife's job.

Sounds good. I have some Tanqueray in the garage freezer from a few years ago. I may have to give that a try. Do you stuff the olives yourself, or buy them that way?

The local liquor store just started carrying blue cheese stuffed olives. I've actually done it myself once and it tastes far, far better. But I'm lazy--my system is designed to get tasty alcohol in me with minimum effort, so I just buy the jarred stuff.
