Re: 2009-10 season schedule thread......... TRAIL BLAZERS TIP-OFF 2009-10 SEASON VS. HOUSTON AT ROSE GARDEN Portland’s 82-game NBA schedule begins Oct. 27 PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Trail Blazers tip-off their 40th NBA season by hosting the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, Oct. 27, marking the first time in seven years the team has opened the season at home. The Trail Blazers are scheduled to play 17 games on national television, including 10 games on ESPN, six on TNT and one on ABC, an April 11 road game at the L.A. Lakers. All 82 Trail Blazers games will air locally on KGW-8, Comcast SportsNet, ABC, ESPN or TNT. Portland’s complete broadcast schedule will be available in the coming weeks. The schedule includes two five-game road trips (Nov. 10-16, Feb. 23-March 1) and one five-game homestand (Jan. 5-15). For the third straight year, Portland will be featured nationally on Christmas Day when it hosts Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets at the Rose Garden. Among the top teams making the trip to the Rose City in 2009-10: the defending NBA champion L.A. Lakers on Jan. 8 and Feb. 6; the LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal-led Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 10; Tim Duncan and the retooled San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 6 and Feb. 4; the defending Eastern Conference champion Orlando Magic Jan. 15; and the divisional rival Utah Jazz on Jan. 27 and Feb. 21. Portland will take on 10 of 14 Western Conference opponents twice at home and twice on the road, while playing the L.A. Lakers, New Orleans, Phoenix and San Antonio only three times apiece. Of those matchups, the Trail Blazers host the L.A. Lakers and San Antonio twice, and New Orleans and Phoenix once. The club will face each Eastern Conference team twice. The Trail Blazers close out the 2009-10 NBA regular season at home on Wednesday, April 14, vs. the Golden State Warriors. Tickets for individual games will go on sale on Monday, Sept. 28, at noon. Season and partial season packages, group tickets and suites are available now. Call 503-797-9600 or visit trailblazers.com for more information.
