Sadly though, that guy's the only one that thinks the Spurs are better, so we're not really underdogs.
Apparently, they didn't get the info that LA won the title. They must've thought "It's an odd year! Let's not watch the playoffs. I'm pretty sure the Spurs won the title. It's DESTINY!"
Apparently he didnt watch Timmy or Manu at the end of last season. Add a slight injury to TP and Ill wait to actually see if that old team can even stand up before I would slot them in at the top of the West.
San Antonio will always be a "favorite" despite how old they are because they play basketball the right way and all their stars stay out of trouble. When Manu is broken down halfway through the season, Parker is hobbling on a bad wheel, and Duncan's knees and back are cracking, then people will realize that team is no longer a favorite. Richard Jefferson is not a difference maker.
I really cant stand that logic..."We are still the CHAMPS" is much better than "We are #1" Believe it or not Mamba this isnt meant to be me talking shit about you...Ive just heard that same logic a lot and I dont agree one bit....for example... When the Celtics fans were saying it last year....sure they are still the champs but they sure as hell not the #1 team at the moment ...i dunno, just irks me when fans say that ....btw #1 and/or champs is totally acceptable in the offseason following the title, lol
Its all good. Right now I still think we're #1. If it comes mid season and Kobe is hurt or something and we're struggling then obviously I wouldn't think we're #1.
