So is anyone else into Mash Ups at all? I first became a fan when Danger Mouse blew my mind with the Grey Album. (If you've never listened to the Grey Album google it, it's still floating around in cyber space.) Anyway, mash ups is the art of taking 2 entirely different songs and combining them into something new. Here are a few of mine. If anyone has any that they like feel free to add. I'm always looking for new ones. "Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg vs. Grease - You're The One That I Want In The Next Episode" "sweet home alabama Vs. country grammar" "Let it be me" This one cracks me up, just ruins a great AC/DC song but it does jam And if any of these make your ears bleed.... Here's a movie mash up that might be more to your taste -
I think they're a lot of fun, when well done. I posted this one a week or two ago, Nirvana with Rick Astley on vocals: This one is very cool, IMO. I've heard the Nivana/Astley one before, now that one I thought my ears would bleed, lol. But the ELO, Supremes, MJ is great! Nice find!! This one isn't the best Mash Up but it's interesting because it shows how talented Frank Zappa and Neil Diamond were, they were hired to write Beatles sounding songs for the Monkees. Killers/Muse. The groups are maybe too similar to make it that impressive, but kinda cool if you like either/both of the groups. Ed O.

Not a mash but still pretty cool:
These aren't mashups, but I was reminded of them. They get at how common many themes in pop music are, which is why these mashups are so possible. I don't really know rap well (at all) so they just sound like raps with sampled music... which is what I associate with rap. I don't know rap well because I don't care for rap, and since those sound like rap songs I don't like them. I'm sure if I could detect the changes that have been made from the original rap songs, I'd appreciate them more. Ed O.
Along the lines of the movie mashup. I don't know if it can be classified as a mashup or not, but I don't care; it bloody rocks!
