http://mmajunkie.com/news/15738/m-1...ly-announced-breakthrough-event-on-aug-28.mma M-1 Global was planning on putting on an event called "Breakthrough" at the end of August featuring a fight between Mo Lawal and Don Frye (presumably at middleweight but it was never announced). The show was to be in conjunction with an international MMA trade show, similar to the UFC's fan expo, taking place at the LA Convention Center. Some of the fights originally intended to take place at Affliction: Trilogy were supposedly going to be moved to this show instead. Except M-1 never bothered to try and get licensed in the state of California. Or Nevada. Or anywhere. Good luck, Strikeforce, you're going to need it.
Although I was sure that Fedor wasn't going to sign with the UFC. I'm not sure about how soon Strikeforce will die, they are a lot more financially cheap than Affliction. Affliction was tossing money left and right, while Strikeforce has pretty reasonable contracts, and not many guys. I would predict they last more than 1.5 years to this day. My guess would be only Fedor fights.
