A source I'm talking to (yes, I have a few) is telling me the following: 1. Rambis has the job...if he wants it. He, as he should, is deciding between being a head coach early, or going to LA to replace Phil when the time comes. 2. It's 50-50 on whether Q-Rich will get traded before the season starts. If he's not traded by the beginning of the season, expect him to be on the block until the trade deadline. 3. There's a 1% chance that Atkins will be in a Wolves uniform by the start of the season. 4. Rubio wants to play in the NBA, and has no issues with playing in Minnesota. As most of us have seen, it's him being picked 5th that's holding him back the most. 5. Rambis and Rubio have the same agent. Not saying the two are linked, but it may help our chances of Fegan working harder than he already is, and he's working hard as-is.
Maybe Rambis is having second thoughts. It would be silly for him not to consider staying in LA and replacing Phil when the time comes. I still expect to see him take our job, but I guess it's not as certain as I thought.
It says no official offer was made so it's hard to make an educated guess on Rambis. He's not going to take a low ball offer to coach, which happened to him in Sacramento. I'm not sure why teams haven't stolen him off the Laker bench. He's been the defensive coach for a team making the NBA Finals in two consecutive seasons.
i hope that 50/50 chance becomes 100 percent. I don't want to see him play. On the whole rambis situation. I really hope he takes the job. It seems like jackson is number 2 and i can't stand him as an analyst. I don't see him being a good coach at all. I'd much rather have a great defensive guy that has worked with an all time great, and actually knows something about winning.
