I think the same, Forrest Griffin has shown an ability to be able to take a lot more punishment than he received last night, in the past. Along with that Forrest did get up and run off pretty quickly, I haven't seen many people get knocked cold, get up and just run off like that. From the opening bell, Griffin didn't seem committed to any of the punches he threw out there, from that half assed kick with no follow up combination behind it, to every feint he threw. Plus Griffin he was leaning his head in first and attacking much more than he did against Shogun and Rampage. Along with the fact that Griffin got a 60,000 dollar fight of the night bonus, when that was far from fight of the night, I think something about that fight is a little fishy to me.
That's a completely different set of circumstances, he was on the ground and got some ground and pound fists before the ref stopped that fight because Griffin wasn't protecting himself. This one he got knocked onto his back and the ref stopped it before Griffin was able to get any punches on the ground. Which would lead you to believe that the ref knew he was in knocked into a state of not being able to protect himself, like knocked cold. When Evans was knocked cold by Machida he didn't just hop up and run out of the ring, he sat there for a while to figure out where he was. Liddell from Evans, Wanderlei from Rampage, everytime those guys were actually knocked out like that, they didn't just get up and run off. So not many people that get knocked out like the ref thought he was, would be able to get up and just run off. How Griffin did that, put on the worst fight of his life, and then got a 60,000 dollar bonus at the end of the whole deal? Either he was hurt heading into that fight, and just fought anyways because it's what the crowd wanted, or that fight was rigged to make Anderson look good.
He wasn't knocked out, he was still conscious. He was hurt and he couldn't keep going. He put his hands up in surrender to make Silva stop and the ref jump in. The fight wasn't rigged--the fact is there weren't good fights on the card is why they got the bonus. It was undoubtedly the most exciting fight even though it was totally one-sided.
Suggesting a UFC fight is rigged is just absurd, valo, you're my dude, but get outta here with that shit.
yeah the ref jumped in cause Griffin verbally tapped I think, and he threw his hands up in surrender. I don't think it was rigged, Silva just fucked him up real bad. Also I read in a few articles that Griffin broke his jaw during that fight so that's why he ran off.
Here's some amazing photos from the fights last night. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/flash/zoomGallery?section=gen&photoGalleryId=4387610
