Looks like we have the Clippers in the first round. How do you guys think we will match up with them?We played then 4 times this season:L 79 - 112W 105 - 95L 87 - 105L 109 - 111We got blown out twice. I think it will be a tough hard fought series but I feel we can take this one in 6 or 7 games. My key factors are Reggie Evans and Ruben Patterson. We are going to really need there tough defense this series
Nugs could very well be the only top seeded team to lose in first round. Just because records are so close between 3rd and 6th.
Actually the games are supposed to be in this order:G1. W 105 - 95G2. L 87 - 105G3. L 79 - 112G4. L 109 - 111But yeah look at the first three games, we won the first one, then played back-to-back blowout games in the second and third. The difference? The first three games were played prior to the trade that brought the new guys. After the trade, look at how much closer G4 was. In fact, we led by 22 pts at one point in that game. With these guys, I'm feeling pretty confident about our matchup. They give us toughness and physicality that surely are the trademarks in the playoffs. Like Camby said, a playoffs game and a regular-season game are completely different because you focus on the little details more in the playoffs. I believe with our frontcourt depth, we're gonna be one of the teams that is going to be hard to be cracked defensively in the paint. Guards are not gonna come in to put layups (we sent that message in our last game vs. San Antonio to Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili).Another reason I think we have the edge over the Clips is experience. As a group we have that edge. This will be the third consecutive playoffs appearance for our team core, while their team ? Not yet... besides Cassell and Radmanovic, I believe this will be a first playoffs game for Elton Brand, Chris Kaman, Corey Maggette, Shaun Livingston. Individual brilliance is not rare for a player making a playoffs debut, and I wouldn't be surprised if Elton continues to put MVP numbers in the playoffs as he has in the season. But how about the other guys? Can they do it together as a team? Sam can only do so much...I believe we can take this series from them. A homecourt advantage would be great but without it, I still think we can do it in 6 games. That's why we still need to finish strong, not only for the homecourt, but also for that momentum.
I think we will win in 6. The game against the Cliippers was when Melo was ejected I think and we had to give in to Ruben for the game winner. I think it will be the best seris of the first roun in the Western Conference.
Seems a little premature. The Grizz only have a .5 game lead over the Clipps and the Clipps have 5 games left. Against:vs. Portland - Win@ Seattle - Winvs. Seattle - Win@ Memphis - ?? Big game@ Dallas - Could be a win if Dallas is playing for nothing.Memphis has Charolotte - Win@ Houstonvs. Clippers@ MinnesotaSo 3 out of 4 games on the road.I think it comes down the the head to head matchup in Memphis on Tuesday.Either way I'd rather face the Grizz then the Clipps. I think the Nuggets can beat the Grizz in 5 games. Clippers scare me because the have the Nuggets number. In the last game the Nuggets had a 22 point lead at half time and lost by 2. The Clipps had their way with the Nuggets in the 2nd half and that was with Ruben and Reggie.
As far as season stuff goes, the trading part makes everything unexpected, but besides that, LA would be expected to win...
Wow who would have thought this time last year that it would bad for the Nuggets chances to be facing the Clippers in the first round.
