Personally, I'm still sold on Artest fitting well with us. I think West just doesn't want to get his hopes up too much. lol

Jerry stated nothing new. Obviously there are risks. Kobe even acknowledged it, along with Mitch. Just gotta see how it plays out. Personally, I think we'll be fine.

He could be a bad fit and he could be a GOOD fit.

I listened to this whole interview as it was taking place. Logo basically said, we know Trevor fit into the system. Artest has never played in the system yet so we dont know for sure if he will fit in. He also said Artest is a more talented player and CAN fit into the system and make the team even better.

He also said Ron doesnt deserve the amount of negative press he has gotten over the years and that Phil has wanted to coach Artest for a while.

I think he's going to fit fine. Odom and Kobe will keep him in check, and I think Phil is the right coach for this situation.

Artest is better in every aspect of the game compared to Ariza. The Triangle offense is perfect for him because he has a major advantage in the post and Artest is a capable back to the basket scorer. He gives the Lakers even more options on the offensive end which makes matching up even more difficult.

    Except for athleticism.

But Luke Walton can make up for that

Anyways, I wonder how long it will take Ron to learn the triangle. Is he smart? Because some guys, like Trevor, Shannon, and Pau get it down in a second. Other guys, like Lamar Odom, take five years.

It depends on how he can catch up and how willing he is to learn the offense. I think he'll be able to grasp it come January.

Artest has triple post experience from his early days in Chicago. So, he is familiar with Winter's offense already.
