Good piece. Hopefully JR Smith does mature from all this offseason drama and does it not only for himself, but for his daughter.

“From the outside looking in, it looks like I’m just some crazy person,” he said.

    Laugh out loud.

Look though, you can't change your personality much at all in a year or two. And you can only slightly change it over many years. Much of your personality is genetic and most of what is not genetic is wired in as you grow up. So a man apologizing for his personality is goofy.

Those whose personalities get trashed in the media and/or get trashed by their coaches should just stay completely out of the media and out of the public eye. Don't feed the hype monster. Don't apologize for what you naturally became. Stay off the media hype grid.

But understand the risks associated with who you are, and don't do the things that are risky. For example, JR Smith should not drive a vehicle until he is at least 50; almost everyone is careful on the roads by then.

The dude kills a passenger in his car and then later after that picks up a criminal charge of reckless driving. What an idiot.

Enjoy the 7 game suspension . . . hope you decide not to go driving during your suspension.

JR Smith is a menace to society . . . bring back Jones.
