The only three guys in the title picture right now should be Hughes, St. Pierre, and Serra. Sanchez, Parysian, Koscheck, and Fitch are the next rung.

I'm going to my cousins house. They always have a couple people over for the fights so its pretty good.

What, no Travis Lutter/Ryan Jensen? [IMG]

Guida always puts on a good show. I would rather see him fighting Huerta but Aurelino should be a tough test regardless.

Yeah, both the Canucks won, Pat Cote by knockout, and GSP by unanimous decision. For all the talk about KOS's athleticism, he was pretty much nullified in the fight and looked like somebody stole his lunch money afterwards.

Good event overall, though I don't know why they didn't show the Clay Guida fight.

Best part is that there are two PPV's, a Fight Night, and the first few episodes of TUF in September. Tonnes of MMA to come.

Fighter payouts for UFC 74, not including money sharing on PPV revenue, I believe. Generally, half of the winner's payout is his win bonus, but every fighter doesn't get the same bonus for winning due to scales, experience, contracts, etc..

Randy Couture ($250,000) def. Gabriel Gonzaga ($45,000)
Georges St. Pierre ($140,000) def. Josh Koscheck ($10,000)
Roger Huerta ($34,000) def. Alberto Crane ($4,000)
Joe Stevenson ($32,000) def. Kurt Pellegrino ($8,000)
Patrick Cote ($24,000) def. Kendall Grove ($12,000)
Renato “Babalu” Sobral ($50,000*) def. David Heath ($6,000)
Frank Mir ($72,000) def. Antoni Hardonk ($8,000)
Thales Leites ($18,000) def. Ryan Jensen ($4,000)
Clay Guida ($14,000) def. Marcus Aurelio ($30,000)

Babalu has had his $25k win bonus withheld pending a review of his conduct by the Nevada St. Athletic Commission.

I'm still kind of stunned at how much Mir made. I mean, I understand that a former champ will get a favourable contract, but that is too much money for a fight they didn't even televise. They paid out more to Babalu, Aurelino and Mir, who didn't get on TV, than most of the other fighters combined.

I agree speedy, they did pay Mir to much. I'm dissapointed in what has happened to him. I understand alot of it may not be his fault, with the car reck and everything, but he just isn't what he used to be. He is breathing heavy and winded after the first round every time, his striking isn't great, and his grappling has been just poor since getting back from that car reck a few years ago.

As for this event, I really thought that St. Pierre showed alot of what he is made of. I'm glad he beat Koscheck who is always so arrogant. He was a better striker and wrestler than Koscheck on that night, and dominated the action. I like the way Couture won, but I think that would have been a much better fight if it wasn't for that freak accident landing that Couture did on the take down. Gonzaga got some good hits in, and just lost alot of energy from all of the blood and having a hard time breathing. Joe Stevenson really impressed me though. He showed a much more improved stand up, and striking ability, he punched on the ground better than what he used to, and his submission attempts were great even if he didn't lock one in. He still has some work to do before he starts fighting Serk or someone of that caliber, but he is on his way in my opinion. He really is one of my favorites in all of MMA.

I personally can't stand Joe Daddy but you can't deny his talent. The guy is a major threat at 155, a division that is getting crazy deep as the months roll by.

I think Stevenson has improved a lot since losing to Jhun, Aram and Pulver. The problem is he hasn't fought someone equal to or better than him in a while. There are at least a dozen fights he could have against other UFC guys that would be more meaningful than his tilts against Pelligrino and Guillard.

I don't think he is ready for a title fight until he gets a win over one of the top UFC LW's.

But the title situation is screwed with Sherk under review right now.
