I thought you might find this amusing... Ari Gold is based on a real life person. Brother of Rahm Emanuel, Ari Emanuel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ari_Emanuel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ari_Gold_(Entourage) From the latter page: Ari's character is based on the real-life Hollywood superagent Ari Emanuel[1], who broke away from mega-agency ICM to form the Endeavor Talent Agency, which represents such stars as Vin Diesel and Larry David, both of whom are represented on the show by the fictional Ari Gold. Likewise, both Emanuel and Gold represent series producer, Mark Wahlberg, upon whose experiences in Hollywood the series is loosely based. Ari Emanuel also once represented Jeremy Piven himself, and in an interview on the special features of the Season 3 Part 2 DVD, Entourage creator Doug Ellin says that the real life Ari demanded the part be cast to Piven and wouldn't accept anyone else to play him. Real-life Ari Gold (filmmaker) is an award-winning filmmaker whose most recent film Adventures of Power showed at Sundance 2008 and also produced the CD of one of Adrian Grenier's (actor who portrays Vincent Chase) bands, The Honey Brothers, in 2003[2].
Actually, I worked for a guy who was the real Ari's assistant at one point, and trust me.... he was 10x worse and not nearly as funny (my boss, not Ari). Oh, and Endeavor is full of arrogant pricks.
Ask that person if they know a former literary agent at Endeavor named Brian Lipson. He grew up mostly in LO and was one of my best friends in Jr. High and Freshman year in HS before he moved.
He and I aren't on good terms. I worked for him for a couple weeks and called it good. Dude was the biggest prick I've ever seen. When I told him I was quitting, he said if he was 10 years younger or if I was 10 years older, he'd kick my ass.
Its a great show, most ppl who say that they dont like the new seasons generally say it has moved away from wat it used be (sex, partying, making movies). but i have liked the recent seasons because they have had a strong story and vince not always getting what he wants. the current season has been pretty good too (excluding the tom brady episode), showing the entourage going their separate ways. Steve Nash is going to be on the next episode!
Entourage is pretty good, but then again I probably watch too much TV (on DVD): My "shows" Entourage (haven't seen this season yet though) Scrubs Futurama (new episodes coming) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Flight of the Conchords Lost Heroes The Office House 30 Rock Californication Nip/Tuck (haven't seen in forever) The Real Estate Pros (Trademark Properties edition) Arrested Development (R.I.P.) Firefly (R.I.P.) Dirty Sexy Money (R.I.P.) Pushing Daisies (R.I.P.) SportsNight (R.I.P) Probably missing a few. Lots of other shows I've heard I need to check out including Curb Your Enthusiasm and Eastbound and Down. When I have time. Which is never, now. Damn you 10 hour days and my recommitting to getting ripped.
You couldn't pay me to watch that. Not sure why. House, New Tricks, Monk, and Numbers. Not necessarily in that order.
Why? Because he basically said he's too pussy to take a swing at me because I'm younger and in better shape?
This whole Eric/Sloan/other chick angle is really boring. I wish they weren't wasting away half the season with it.
