<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Hunter May Bolt If Twins Aren't Ready To Win 12th April, 2006 - 11:54 am Pioneer Press - Torii Hunter's future will play itself out this season. Hunter, 30, in the final season of a four-year, $32 million contract, has made it clear that if the Twins do not win this season or show a commitment to winning next year, he wants to play elsewhere. "I think about it all the time," said Hunter, referring to the prospects of playing for the New York Yankees or other big-market teams. "I'm human. I know how to take it out of my mind when I'm playing the game, but when I'm sitting here (in the clubhouse) and look around at some of these younger guys ? I look at Joe Mauer. I look at Justin Morneau. They have all the time in the world. "But for me, five, six more years, it might be the end for me. So I need to go out and try to win the World Series. I can't go backwards." The Twins have a $12 million option on Hunter's contract for 2007, and whether the tight-fisted franchise exercises the option depends mostly on how the team fares in 2006. [READ]</div> Well maybe if you worked on your game the Twins would win more you idiot.

^Dude, he is great. The Twins aren't a big market team, so that could be one reason. They have done great as a small market team. Getting Johan Santana, Torii Hunter, Joe Mauer, Joe Nathan and Justin Morneau as a core is amazing. It would be a shame if Torii didn't return. He is a great defender, and a very versatle guy on offense, home runs and steals.

He hits 270 and just has never developed into the hitter he could have been. Big market or small market means nothing. The Twins have had nice lineups over the last 7 years.

He leaves a lot to be desired at the plate, but his defense and leadership are important to this ball club. I hope there a way we can retain him this summer.Plus, I don't know how long Joe Nathan and Johan Santana will be here, either.

Santana will go for big money in the offseason (I think his contract is up after this season.) Money on Baltimore getting him.

I believe Johan Santana has 3 years left on his contract. He signed an extension after his Cy Young season.

The guy is a great defensive center. He's right behind Vernon Wells for the Gold Glove. The Twins will really miss him if he leaves.

His offense might be slower tahn his defense but he is still a good player. If the Twins want any chances of winning I think this guy needs to step his game up.
