Okay, this is weird but I am following up on it now for various reasons. Last season I occasionally posted my season tix on Craigslist. In November, I got a rather bizarre reply from "Katie," who posted some photos of a young woman in suggestive poses, and said that she had no money but would do "anything" for the tickets. I ignored her, and my friends and I had a good laugh at the bar at halftime as I passed the email around on my iPhone. But then "she" wrote several times again when I posted tix later in the season, and even made some rather explicit offers of what she would do in exchange for my tickets. It was just so bizarre - some friends thought it was a setup for a robbery, others some sort of sting. Nobody could imagine she was for real - just sending that out blindly to stangers. At any rate, I didn't hear from her again the rest of the season. Now it appears that some people are looking further into this, and I volunteered to ask you all - did anyone else get these? She was clearly blanketing the craigslist sellers so I have to assume that others got it (just like the auto mechanic who constantly replies, asking to trade work for tix - bless his heart). I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who received the emails from "Katie," and any other details. Feel free to pm me. Thanks in advance. (Hey, it's a slow time on the boards, so maybe this will liven it up if nothing else!)
Eek. Stay as far away as possible. Our beloved Blazers aren't yet good enough to trade sex for tickets. It's a scam to rob you.
Seems like a perfectly legitimate barter deal to me. Katie gets your tix and resells them for something more than she'd get for her services otherwise. Everybody wins? barfo
I have a friend with really good seats and he sold them on Craigslist, met the person, traded cash for tickets. For the rest of that season that person kept selling counterfeits of his seats. Really pissed him off but there was nothing he could about it. L There are lots of scams out there, who knows what this chicks is but you know it's got to be a scam.
I sold mine on CL several times, but never had that. I did have someone offer to barter car repair, but it wasn't a euphemism.
The only way for us to help you determine if this is a fraud or not is for you to post the photos she sent. Help us help you.
TIGARD, Ore. -In late 2008 or early 2009, Tigard officers began posting online advertisements on Craigslist, posing as women willing to have sex in exchange for pot. Police Chief William Dickinson, said Wednesday that police arrested about 40 people during the sting but stopped in June because a top prosecutor declined to pursue several cases and told them to change their tactics. I saw this on the news. This one poor guy from clackamas drove all the way to tigard thinking he was going to get stoned with a girl and have sex. The news showed the emails back and forth and then the police arrested him when he showed up with 3.5 grams of mj on him. The photo of the chick was hot . . . the post said that she really wanted to get high and would have sex with someone who brought over pot (something like that)
Right - and "Katie" said she was from Tigard too. I can't figure out how to post the photos from her (but believe me they're not that great). She emailed me several times over a couple of months so I assumed everyone who posted tix on craigslist got the same emails. Nobody here yet?
Is that girl even legal? I wouldn't be as worried about the Tigard Police as I would be about Chris Hansen.
