Re: '98 All Star Game Murdered? That clip showed what, 4 plays? Kobe had 18 and 6 that game in 22 minutes, he was the youngest all star in NBA history. He also played very well against Michael when he played in Chicago.

And find stats showing Kobe did well on Chicago MJ. MJ was just too good for Kobe, and Kobe still wouldn't be able to guard MJ one on one, as MJ had the most unstoppable fadeaway for a swingman in NBA history, and was athletic and quick enough to get around Kobe and get fouled.

Re: '98 All Star Game Show them then. You saw clips, meaning that you likely didn't see the whole game. If he did drop that much on MJ....cool. In playoffs or in a game that mattered where the Bulls defense wasn't focusing on Shaq only, would it have happenned? No.

It's a shame tho that we never got to see these two play eachother in their prime. I think as far as just one on one ability, these two are equal.
Re: '98 All Star Game new to the site so just having a look around and came across this. As much as I dislike the Lakers I couldn't believe how people were using this as an example to put Kobe down. The guy was 19! Was still growing, still learning the game and playing against the greatest player of all time in his first all star game. A game that he put up some pretty good numbers as well.MJ in his prime against the Kobe of today, now THAT would be a sick contest.
