You mean like the tram to OHSU that went right over people's backyards? Yeah, I'd be pissed if I were one of them too. But like everything else it's great when it isn't you.
Holy crap, I'm a yuppie? I didn't realize that was a requirement living on the west side. But hey, I guess you Californians know better, eh?
I doubt you'll ever have to worry about this. Not a chance in hell a politician in this state ever proposes this bill without being hung upside down by his testicles from a couple of rusty s-hooks. Personally, I'd be fine with it as long as it came with an equal reduction in income tax. That woud make us slightly more competitive in luring businesses (and jobs) to this state. People are used to paying sales tax. But our exorbitant income tax rate is not palatable to most people when considering employment here.
They have something like that already. about where the I-5 exit meets the nato parkway. due east of there.
is that suppose to be the west side or the east side? I assume that is the willamette, not the columbia...
I think too many times companies move in here when you give them a tax break, and then as soon as the tax break runs out, they get up and leave. There are TONS of cities trying to do this already, and we have gone through this cycle already with some corporations. I'm not too keen on baseball here myself. I think it is a dying sport, and I'm happy with MLS with our growing hispanic population. Mostly though, I'd rather have the focus on basketball and college sports.
