This weekend I went to FYE and bought SLC Punk. Did a little research online and it has a pretty big following. It's about this punk originally from NYC that moves to Salt Lake City where there is ....Nothing. Check it out: "Salt Lake Shitty"
That's one of my favorite movies, simply because it captured my era so well. I was a Mod minus the pill popping. I had a girlfriend that grew up in Provo and told me that movie nailed perfectly SLC during that era.
I nominate a movie to be a cult classic: The Marine...holy crap this movie is horrible. Every cheesy thing you can think of is in this movie. Lots of slow motion jumps away from fire. Its sooooo bad it good in a pathetic way.
Dude, if you're nominating "The Marine" for that genre, why not go whole hog and nominate "Road House"? Patrick Swayze as philosopher-womanizer-cooler Dalton is as bad ass as they come.
I'm just plain getting old. In my day the cult classics were Harold & Maude and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Harold & Maude is a great movie. It's strange how it's faded away. Another one of my cult favorites is Sunset Boulevard.
The Creep Show is awesome. The second one is my favorite. Awesome 70's comedy. I think this was the first time comedic legends Richard Pryor and George Carlin were in the same movie together.
anyone here see the original Wicker Man with Christopher Lee? that's a pretty good cult "horror" film
