As I said in another post, when Blazer management drafted 2 guys who are known for toughness, I think the message was sent. Hell Frye was just plain sent packing. The team knows it will not make it any further unless players toughen up. The drafting of Pendergraph and Cunningham should have sent a very striaght forward message to Travis. Toughen up. If he does that, great. But I wouldn't even bet my lunch on it.
Hopefully Outlaw comes back better and more consistent! Doesn't seem like the type to fade after he gets his money either, but I think he's playing for a contract somewhere else.
Fade from what? Being an average player at best? That would just be farging sad. The guy takes 5 years to become an average player and then gets a contract and fades to below average? The consistency argument really only holds water in the scoring department. He has always been one of those players where if he isn't scoring, he isn't worth a shit out on the floor.
This! (My favorite Outlaw highlight video)
Wow your a dick! Who's to say that dog isn't gonna grow into those legs and be the best darn baller around...??? Sometimes the late bloomer passes up most in the end anyway. . Everyone's hate is just fueling his motivation, I think he'll come around to be one of the Top 10 bench players in the league! PS those Weimaraner dogs are $$$
one of the highest scoring bench guys in the league and hit quite a few game winning shots/plays for us. on a decent salary...if he plays well he might get a good contract, but i don't think he'll go all theo ratliff on the team he's on.
He can chuck. He can gun. He can shoot off ballanced jumpers He can break down our offense He can be constantly out of place on defense
Maybe he can play like it's a contract year, start rebounding like he should, and improve his trade value? Would that make you happy big guy?
Yes and no. Delighted to see the effort, but disgusted that he only brought it in a contract year. Plus all of the bleeding hearts proclaiming him arrived....after 7 years in the league
I think he has been in the league for six years . . . and he really didn't play much his first two years. In fact Oden played more last year than Outlaw did in his first two years combined . . . and for a season Outlaw didn't play as many minutes as Oden did until his 4th year (and Oden didn't play a heck of alot of minutes). So it might have taken Outlaw longer to "arrive" (assuming he has arrived) . . . but he wasn't given much opportunity to get PT until 2 seasons ago.
I was speaking after this next season, so 7 years. Maybe he didn't play much because he sucked.....if I remember correctly. Oden has had a much better impact on the game than Travis ever has.
What can Outlaw do for me? The same thing most celebrities can do for their entourage... get them laid!
That would make me happy. I want max trade value for Outlaw, whatever that may be. But I want him traded STAT!
Maybe . . . although I see a trend . . . the more minutes Outlaw plays in a season, the more wins the Blazers have. Must be coincidence.
