celebrities? give me a break. these right wing nutjobs have organized themselves into mob type numbers. the death threats, their imagery (i.e nazi allusions); their attempts to drown out intelligent debate with noise are all typical behaviour of domestic terrorists. they even have their henchmen (e.g james von braun, richard poplowski) do their bidding
I think your post is nonsense. Obama got a huge boost when Clinton's hollywood backers jumped on the Obama bandwagon. They're bloody rich, and have a bigger megaphone than the rest of us. I don't doubt that powerful and influential people are trying to hurt the other party. But unless you're a union worker getting paid to show up at a rally to beat up people or make the crowd otherwise look more friendly, I don't see how these influential people can motivate people to show up in the kinds of numbers they are to oppose this bad legislation.
mccain had chuck norris, the governorator, dean cain, sly stallone and even clint eastwood. i think u over exaggerate the celebrity influence over politics. as for union members beating up poor little conservatives- its a farce. its a he said, she said kind of deal. obama wins because of the demographics- he won black ppl; hispanics (the fastest growing group); young ppl and university educated. and the republicans have their melodramatic, intellectually dim base.
Cindy Sheenan a real patriot? She is a disgrace in just about every way. She disgraces herself, her family, and most importantly her sons service to his country. As for the left-wingers being ignored by mainstream media, that is such a lie it's not even funny. Pretty much the only thing CNN and MSNBC during that time was something negative about the war. Code pink was constantly on those channels. The coverage of town hall meetings thus far on CNN and MSNBC has all included the suggestion that these are being organized by Republicans and the insinuation that apparently opposing the health care bill makes you a Domestic Terrorist, a point of view you have clearly taken hook, line and sinker. And Obama had 99% of hollywood actively endorsing him any chance they got. Concerts, interviews, red carpet affairs, every possible means to promote this man was used. To say that celebrities do not influence politics is garbage. They have influence because they have a voice, a means to communicate with the masses thus allowing them to promote who or whatever they want and actually be heard.
the vassal of facts has just submitted his opinions in disgraceful fashion again. yes- mothers that have lost their sons to an unjust war are wretched bitches who should be ashamed of themselves. and 99% of celebrities endorsed obama- how did u compute that number? its an arbitrary number informed by your preconceived biases, not fact. i just documented a handful in a previous post in response to denny crane who supported palin and let me add some more- adam sandler, heather locklear (sp.), bob barker, jerry bruckheimer, drew carey, tom clancy, robert duvall, jeff foxworthy, and every country singer alive.
deception, you really need to reevaluate your taste in movies if you think the C-List celebrities you mentioned on the right hold any sway in this country.
Lots of mothers have lost their sons, Cindy Sheenan made a circus out of her sons death, that's what makes her a disgrace. Are you an idiot? Take a look at the list above, those 3 cannot even come close to competing. Fyi, you suck at this game.
what game? i love games, i just never knew we were playing a game. were u game deprived as a kid? if u read maxiep's reply- he suggested i was posting c list celebs when in actuality i was posting big time stars. btw, there was polling conducted last year which suggested that celebs have little to no influence over ppl's votes. btw, im still waiting for u to prove to me that 99% of celebs voted for obama as u previously stated. u need to distinguish between your point of view which is myopic and fact.
im honestly conflicted on this issue because the rest of the world manages to have a workable public school system but u guys have this proclivity to fuck everything up. i probably think its because u have a two party system and everything is so divisive that nothing gets done. nevertheless, i believe the marketplace in america can provide a workable alternative as demonstrated by the results (tests, curbing pregnancy, graduation rates) and tax dollars should be redirected to these private schools if parents so desire. as for obama's kids going to a public school- u know that school in particular has educated many first family kids (e.g. chelsea clinton) and i would imagine its more suited to handle the incredible security demands of protecting the presidents daughters.
None whatsoever. I was disgusted to hear this charge. The War on Terrorism is too important to be used as a political tool.
