    Fuckin' crazy......

I'm amazed I've managed to keep my job for 3 years now. Our store isn't the buesiest. I'm surprised they haven't closed it yet.

    *knock on wood*

They say the real number is actually closer to 16%. There's going to a lot of trouble ahead for the state with commercial real estate getting hammered. Next time you're driving around take a look at all the office buildings for lease. It's alarming.

Official unemployment #'s dont include people who are part-time who would like to be full-time, or people who have stopped looking for jobs because they cant find one. It is bad out there. Be happy to have a job if you have one.

Yeah it's really a weird time. I went to dinner with some people the other night and I was the only one who still had a job. I actually got a nice raise recently, but didn't say anything.

The majority of people I know who are still on unemployment are having the time of their life though. Hopefully they can find work after that money dries up.

I know some people who got laid off and between the severence they got and unemployment, they are making more than when they had a job! Gotta love a system like that.

This is what gets me about America.

How can one segment of the country have such terrible unemployment rates while everywhere else is *relatively* fine?

All the billions of dollars this stupid ass state wastes on such as illegal immigrants and pointless programs. Take care of the true citizens first.

yeah, that shit pisses me off.

Unemployment pays more than what I'm making right now. It is a fucking joke. Gives me a lot of incentives to go lose my job.

Best check that carefully first. Usually (don't know about CA in particular) unemployment benefits are scaled to what you were making before becoming unemployed. Thus someone else might make more on unemployment than you do at your job, but that doesn't mean you'll make more on unemployment.

Ah, I don't know. I was just talking out of my ass. I wouldn't quit my job because of the benefits. It is still a joke, though. They should be getting minimum wage type of pay.

It's not fine at all. In my WHOLE country the unemployment is about 11-12%. Still economy seems to get a bit stronger day by day and most of the sources say the worst part is over, then again you never know.
