I think he's worth that on a bad team or a first round exit team, but I'm not so sure about a championship contending team. It's hard to build a contender with that much money tied up in a 2 guard, which is one of the easiest positions to fill. It can be done, of course, but you need key players around him to sign value contracts, less than they could have gotten elsewhere for the chance to win it all. Oden will command big money, you'll need another FA PG once Miller leaves (Bayless is not the answer), and Portland will still have to bring in good, role playing vets to really have a shot, IMO, and those guys don't generally come very cheap. If Pritchard is trying to get a discount on LMA with future moves in mind, then I think he's doing the right thing. Assuming he really is trying to sign him and not just biased against PFs as you suggest.
