This guy is awesome, and so underrated, I'm really upset he got hurt and couldn't fight Vera because I thought that would be (1) a great fight, and (2) a fight that could have pushed Hamill up quite a few rungs on the ladder in the LHW. He's 6-2 all in the UFC... huge headkick KO vs. Munoz, 4 other finishes, one of the losses is to one of the UFC's best fighters in Franklin, and the other "loss" wasn't even a loss. I watched UFC 75 last night and saw the Hamill/Bisping fight for the first time, and IMO Hamill clearly won. He had takedowns in all 3 rounds, and out-struck Bisping pretty convincingly in the first, and I thought he did in the second as well. Somehow he lost this fight, made no sense to me, and IMO if there ever were to be a judging conspiracy, this was it, as the fight was in England too. It should have at least been 29-28, I would have scored it 30-27 personally. It really pisses me off that Hamill lost this fight, especially as a huge fan of his. I thought it was pretty evident that Hamill won the fight too. Fuck that.
Matt's pretty cool. I came within seconds of meeting him at the MGM Grand when we were in Vegas. He was getting onto an elevator ahead of us and the doors were shutting when we came around the corner. We went down to the lobby to catch him but he must've gotten off on another floor. He definitely beat Mike Bisping but he looked pretty terrible against Franklin. His wrestling is good but he needs to continue to develop his stand up. The KO of Munoz was a good sign.
