I don't know, that poster I used to have of Farah Fawcett was pretty hot, whereas the topic of this thread is just plain stupid.
I can't believe im wasting my time even replying to this but you sir dont have a freakin clue about what your talking about. You look so foolish from writing the above post you should be ashamed of yourself. And the funny thing is you don't even know why.
Actually Storyteller is a legend in these forums and very intelligent. Quick and Blazer's Edge use him as the resident expert for all things salary cap related.
OK, I'll take off my sarcasm hat. Let's talk about Aldridge and his extension. One thing is clear to me - neither side wants to negotiate this contract via the media. That might be frustrating for you and for me since we both want to see the deal done and want constant updates as to its progress but it means zilch when it comes to whether or not a deal will get done or not. I didn't expect that the organization would simply give Aldridge an extension without negotiating. Did you? These are tough times financially for the NBA. Aldridge wants to get as much money as he can and the Blazers want to sign him for as little as possible. That's the way the world works. That's why players such as Kirk Hinrich, Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, etc. did not sign extensions off of their rookie scale deals until October in years past. Neither the Blazer organization nor LaMarcus Aldridge are playing fantasy basketball with Monopoly money - the stakes are high and negotiation is called for. That's also why the CBA gives the two sides four months to negotiate these extensions - and we haven't even reached the halfway point of the negotiation timeframe. The implications of an extension for Aldridge are particularly important given the economic climate. If Basketball Related Income drops this season, as most predict it will, then Roy's deal will be scaled down next summer to the actual 'max' amount allowable. However, such a reduction will not, in all likelihood, take place with Aldridge's contract. Whatever he signs for, he'll get. That makes it particularly important for both sides to arrive at a figure that both are comfortable with. Negotiations are taking place and I expect an extension to be signed sometime before October 31st. Oh, and to be clear, I fully expect that the Blazers will also announce at some point in the next 67 days that the 2010-11 team options for Greg Oden, Jerryd Bayless, Rudy Fernandez and Nic Batum will all be picked up. I hope that's clear enough for you. You'll note that I didn't attribute an attitude of 'hate' by any member of the Blazer organization towards any other human being.
I think that Storyteller would be entirely justified in using the age-old question which I have recently heard uttered by two different rich Latin American chicks to security staff members: "Do you know who I am?" Ed O.
are you people redonkulous homers our are you just blind. I could care less who STORYTELLER is first off and second his statement makes no sense at all!!!! Comparing LMA's contract to team options like Bayless is a complete joke and a complete FAIL!!! I guess some of you are just so quick to try and throw dirt on me you don't actually read what was wrote. StoryTeller made the most idiotic comparison of contract situations I have EVER seen. So according to STORYTELER and some of you I should think KP hates shooting guards now to because he won't extend RUDY?? HELLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!??????? RUDY IS GOING INTO HIS SECOND FREAKIN YEAR! LMA IS GOING INTO HIS 4TH WITH 1 YEAR LEFT!! WHAT DO SOME OF YOU DONT GET ABOUT THAT? UNREAL!! IF YOUR NOT GOING TO BRING COMMON SENSE TO THE TABLE THEN YOU ARE EXCUSED! OWNED!!
Just so you know, KP has been out of the country and LMA's agent has been on vacation. Now they are both back. Expect a deal to be done soon. (at least before the start of the regular season ) Link
First, you invited it on yourself when you said "you sir dont have a freakin clue about what your talking about". I can think of few people in the Blazer organization, much less on this board, who have more of a "freakin clue" about contracts and the CBA than Story. So if you could "care less about who Storyteller is", then I suggest you 1) do so--care less about who he is; and 2) read what the man writes and attempt to wrap your brain around it. It legitimately may take awhile--he confuses the heck out of me sometimes and ends up right way more than my ego would like--but it's going to be worth it if you really want to understand. As far as LMA's extension goes, he made a good point. You keep postulating that KP hates players who play the power forward position because a player who plays the PF position, and who has one year left on his contract has not received an extension yet. He was showing how your conclusion was a fallacy: the Trail Blazers have multiple players with one year left on their contract who have not received an extension, and therefore to utilize the same reasoning you did one has to come to the conclusion that KP must hate those positions also. We all agree that that's a horrible conclusion: it's just that you haven't extrapolated that back to your original post, and resorted to telling a poster who does have a clue that he doesn't. That's all.
Hey B, one word for you......FAIL!!!! and your boy storyteller is the ultimate fail with his comparisons, which makes about as much sense as KP keeping this team soft bye not going out and getting a banger.
If KP really didn't think he could get a deal done with LMA or if he doesn't want to get a deal done with LMA the interwebs would be full of trade rumors. The Blazers would trade LMA before they would just let him walk. LMA would have a very high trade value.
WOW YOU GOT ME THERE. OR KP COULD MATCH ANY OFFER NEXT SUMMER TO SEE HIS VALUE. HMMM??? BOY GENIUS IS GONNA BREAK YOUR HEART, CANT WAIT
