    Link? I saw the video of him over and over and over. I could google search it and find ten thousand links, most of which are from right wingers so why bother? Lefties will dismiss them because of the source. Go to youtube and type in Barney Frank Mortgage and you will get more videos than I could post here.

    Most of this probably went on when Bush had that boner in his flight suit so you probably missed it.

    In addition to a liquidity crisis and a mortgage crisis, you can now add on a confidence crisis. The polls show, no matter how personally popular President Obama is, his individual policy prescriptions are not well-received by those that are usually counted on to drive the economy. The President and his advisors need to realize that they may not like the private sector, but they're going to have to incentivize them to do something. Government is not the answer for everything.

    Lacking 60 votes to break a filibuster in the senate, it went nowhere because democrats wanted the banks giving loans to people who couldn't truly afford the properties they were buying.

    So Bush took the issue to the public and raised support for his position, and he lobbied in Congress to sway a few conservative Democrats to his cause, and he horse-traded other things away so that he could get this passed, and he made democratic opposition to the idea a part of his reelection campaign...

    No, he didn't do any of those things. He apparently just shrugged and said "whatever" and forgot all about it. He didn't actually do anything at all.

    How true, notice in that ridiculous old quote thread how I said that Bush and the Republicans spent out of control and then the lefty just assumes I think Bush was a God despite my actual words.

    I think people seriously think that if you don't like Obama spending us to hell then you must have been for it when Bush was around. Just plain silly.
