No one makes him an offer? What happens to him? Does he go back to the Bucks for the chump change they offered him for the qualifying offer? Wasn't it like 1 mil?
I would drive him to the airport. Pay for the ticket. And help him unpack im Milwuakee. And I'm not a Bayless hater by any means.
True. However, reports since them indicate that the Bucks are not going to match a MLE, making the restricted part or the tying up money (in the end of August) no longer factors to why teams haven't made him an offer.
Reports are they won't even match a portion of the MLE. I was never a big Sessions fan but if you can snag him for $3.5mil.... it would be a move with very little downside.
You guys do realize that he could have offers on the table but refuse to sign them because they aren't what he would consider an ideal situation. For example...would he sign somewhere to play as a backup? He might say screw it and play the year out so that he can make much more than the MLE in the unrestricted FA market. He's still limited to a maximum salary of the MLE, which is the average salary amount in the league. So even though the Bucks say they won't match (and really? Did you guys forget about how Charlie Bell was burned when the Bucks said they wouldn't match the Heat's offer sheet and then did anyways?), it's possible Sessions didn't like any of the offers on the table. Although I'd imagine if NY did tender the full MLE, he would have gone for it to play under D'Antoni.
+ No way in hell I trade Rudy straight up for Sessions. Especially now that we have Andre for atleast two seasons. If that was the plan, we should have made that decsion before signing Andre.
Those things could all be true. To me, it's just as likely that he has very little value in this league because GM's realized his game is very flawed.
Sessions would be a nice understudy to Miller, but it would really depend on what it took to get him.
I'm honestly not completely sure what to think of Jerryd Bayless at this point. I know he has talent, but will he ever put it together? Hard to say, and I really feel this team needs a distributor to run things. Andre Miller will prove this.
Well, it's a tough call. As much as I love Rudy, I'm still not sold that he will have a place on this team long term. Don't you think Rudy will want to start eventually?
There is no way you trade the best 2nd string SG in the league for a 3rd string PG. I don't care what your depth chart looks like. Rudy for Sessions and the Bucks unprotected 1st still probably wouldn't be enough.
yes and no, I honestly think he will be fine as a supersub, I eventually see a 3 guard rotation with Roy, Rudy, and Bayless (if he develops) or Sessions would be nice. that would leave plenty of minutes for Rudy IMO, and he would be in, in a lot of 4th quarters. That I honestly think would be more important for Rudy.
