I'm not surprised there's a lot of reasons for the team to be cold towards Favre.

    1. All the offseason cat and mouse games he played.
    2. Wanting to support the two guys you've actually played with last season.
    3. He used to be a Packer
    4. At 40 can Favre relate to these younger guys?
    5. Didn't participate in training camp

All this will change of course if the team wins and Favre is producing. It could turn into another Viking cruise love fest.

Sage didn't play with them last year.

Tavaris does not give them a better shot to win.

Sage maybe, but fuck no to that piece of junk Tavaris.

Clearly these players aren't being objective. Tavaris has been the NFL's worst starting QB the past two seasons, and while Sage could be a capable starter, he's a bit of an unknown at this point. It's tough to say either are definitely better than Favre.

But I think that's part of the point of all this. One of the most important things for an NFL team is that the rosters trusts and has faith in their leaders. After bringing so much media pressure onto the team, screwing over two incumbents, openly admitting his selfish motivation for joining Minnesota (sticking it to the Packers), and clearly attempting to duck training camp, how can these players trust Favre? The only impression that you're left with is a player that's in it for himself and is only using them as instruments for his own ends. Minnesota's locker room is reacting against that more than anything.
