Eduardo's dive against Celtic wasn't the determining factor in the series--Celtic still lost 5-1 in aggregate--but it certainly helped.

Celtic players are furious about it and have called for Eduardo to be banned.

Even Arsene Wenger has been forced to admit it wasn't a foul:
Do you think there will be repercussions for the simulation?

I hope so. Not much you can do for Celtic, but there wasn't much they were going to do for themselves anyway. But, punishing Eduardo would be admitting a wrong and there is always some hesitancy to do that.

I'd like to see it, but I'm not holding my breath.

Diving happens in so many games. People don't criticise Ronaldo for doing it, but because people have a lot of actual respect for Eduardo they are shocked at it and the potential banning is a complete joke IMO

Like hell they don't. Him and Drogba are both flamed like crazy for it. Deservedly so.

Wow, this is starting to piss me off.

How many times does did Ronaldo dive for United, Gerrard for Liverpool, or Drogba for Chelsea? Frequently. How often do Arsenal players dive? Very rarely. What is the media's reaction when Ronaldo dives? "He probably lost his footing." For Eduardo? "That was disgraceful."

Arsenal have had the near-perfect start to the season, yet the media will always find something to pick at. Against Everton, "They played poorly." For the first leg against Celtic, "We got lucky." For the Pompey game, "They're having problems in the administrative area of the club." And for the the latest game, "Eduardo's dive hurt Celtic's chances of threatening an upset." It's all bullshit.

Yes, Eduardo had a blatant dive. Boruc obviously made absolutely no contact with him but did Eduardo make the decision to call the penalty? If I had two broken bones poking out of my leg I'd be diving all the fucking time. The only reason Eduardo shouldn't be banned is that fact that no other player has been banned post-match. If a player ever gets banned due to diving it is because he received a red card during the game.

    Damn.

Not that I disagree with your sentiment, Ronan, but Arsenal has a lot of divers. Fabregas, RVP, Nasri, Bendtner, Diaby...
