    :guitar:
So Ive been playing guitar for 15 years and believe it or not Ive never had a steel string acoustic guitar. Mostly played electric.Had a nylon string classical acoustic my Grandma bought me when I was about 15, had no idea what the difference was at the time and nobody at the store told me :(

Anyways Ive been cruising craigslist and found this badboy. Its made by CONN, a company that now only makes brass instruments. It was made in Japan in 1971!!! Its an old ass guitar! Japanese guitars at the time are known for their quality and durability. The thing sounds tits...and thats with 3 year old strings on it. Taking it to the shop to get it intonated and to get rid of some fret buzz on the 9th fret of the A string...besides for that its great! Sounds like a much more expensive guitar.

The dude lived 5 minutes away (amazing for LA craigslist) and I talked him down from 200 to 130! (I kick ass)...and thats with a nice hardshell custom case!

I love my new baby! :guitar:

    Check it out!

DaRizzle, I was going to compliment you on the guitar until I got to that last jpeg.

Actually, it looks beautifully made. Really interesting woods. The headstock looks like a rosewood veneer with really quality inlay, but the neck looks like mahogany. The back and sides look like maple, but that may just be the flash, it could be mahogany too. Match all that with the spruce top, and I bet that mother sounds great.

    Congrats.

Edit: I just noticed how tightly grained the spruce top is. Even better.

Has the guitar helped or hurt your BJ ratio?

you cant get better than the 1 to 1 BJ ratio that I have :ghoti:

...but yes, that will be commencing right after the final note of the Jack Johnson song "Bubble Toes" that I sing

...panties will be dropping my friends

I would love to play that guitar.
I still have my first guitar ever, which was a steel string accoustic. It is a fucking beautiful sounding and playing thing by the way. It is a 1971 Epiphone Texan (remember, that is before Gibson bought them out) that my dad bought in 72 and basically stored in his closet until I decided I wanted to play guitar whilst in junior high. It is also an early 70's Japanese accoustic. I can seriously go to music shops to this day and play all of the most expensive guitars and find nothing that even approaches the sound of my guitar. That must have been a good era for Japanese dreadnoughts.
