This place has some of the weirdest/craziest ideas ever. I was looking at their menu tonight and a few stuck out to me. It has a weird vibe but a staple of Portland 'weirdness' --Nyquil glazed (no longer available) --Pepto doughnut --Redbull glazed --Arnold Palmer - Cake doughnut covered with lemon and tea powder. --Bacon-Maple bar - A traditional maple bar topped with strips of fried bacon. --Jagermeister glazed (no longer available)
Every 4th or 5th home Blazer game my buddy and I typically stop in to the downtown Voodoo for something to soak up our $8 RG coors lite. We park downtown and usually take max over to the RG, then walk back. The bacon maple bar is one of the greatest inventions of all time. It is absolutely incredible. My 2nd fave is the banana fritter. Make sure to take that home before you eat it. Nuke it for like 15 seconds. Heaven.
Or more specifically, more like a weird Portland thing. The donuts there are pretty good. I myself don't have a fond taste for variety when it comes to donuts as I only eat glazed and old fashioned. But the donuts they have here, are excellent.
I walked by there today (assuming there is only one, and its near burnside) there was a line almost around the block. wtf?
that place is legit. i thought the bacon maple bar would be disgusting but it is delicious. i'm fond of the ol'dirty bastard. a choc. doughnut with oreo crumbled on top and drizzled with PB frosting. can't really go wrong with anything there.
I want a bacon maple bar SO bad. That sounds SO good lol but I don't want to have to run 3 miles to work off the calories.
yup. they are actually kind of famous. they were featured as one of 3 or 4 places anthony bourdain went to when he did his half hour special on portland.
