You already set the barometer. "For me, a PG is judged in large part by the success of his team."

Last time I checked, "in large part" doesn't mean exclusively.

Yes, it is set in large part. That leaves room for truly great players like Chris Paul and John Stockton to also be considered successful.

Of course, Paul has already made a WC semifinal and lost 4-3 to the eventual champion, and Stockton made two NBA Finals, so they did at least experience success in the playoffs.

What part of "large part" translates to "only part"? :dunno:

    ...7 months a year.

He works less than the average RETIRED American.

No hate involved but I see Sergio for Miller as a huge downgrade, both immediately and obviously in the years to follow. Andre is a few steps from retirement, with little left in the tank, and will never reach the heights Sergio is heading for.

    Overall, worst offseason in years.

That's pretty silly. I am certain Andre Miller can get on a plane and move to Spain just as Sergio will. The only difference is that this will not be the height of his career...

    Ah Maris....

You just sit on your deck (the bumper of a rusted-out Chevy Impala), smoke your Cohiba (doobie) and enjoy the beautiful scenary (a half-starved rattlesnake stalking a rabbit suffering from sunstroke). Leave the basketball analysis to others.

Bet you a six pack the great Sergio doesn't get a single contract offer next year. So much for headed for greatness.

I douby he sticks in the NBA. Good luck to him - but I will be surprised if he does not play in Spain after this year.

I am not betting the world, I just want to see MARIS do something other than postulate... but yeah, my bet is no offer what so ever. He doesn't have the draw that Iverson has even for the minor teams... I just don't see anyone grabbing him with the class of 2010 being chock full.

I think Sergio could easily get a contract offer from Europe, and I suspect that's where he'll end up after next season.

You guys are going to get me on a technicality since I didn't specify NBA (that is what I meant, Angola probably would take him) but I will stand by on the bet for MARIS since that's what he agreed to (even though I am certain he believes Serg will be in the NBA). I hate St. Paulie but we can go for that being the wager, I am an amicable guy. Someone bookmark this and bump it next year!
