I was kind of hoping you would include some reasoning behind starting Outlaw and Joel.

Outlaw for the 3-point shooting and Joel for the defense and rebounding.

BTW, regarding your signature, Miller is better than Sergio but I also have a feeling that Sergio would make us kinda regret we gave up on him. Not saying it was a mistake, because, as I said, we have two superior PGs and one superior project at PG but the Kings, I think, made a very good deal.

i dont see this as the opening night lineup etc but it could be this way after a few games depending on how much foul trouble GO gets into and if they start joel to save GO for the latter game stages. SF is wide open, still a lottery there imo

There are going to be flaws in any depth chart we come up with because we still need another consolidation trade. However, you have no backup PF, and have a 7 man rotation for 3 positions.

I also see GO and Nic starting.

Perhaps after the season begins, and we get a bit more cap space, we'll do something.

Outlaw and Batum both hit threes at right around 37%. So it's pretty bad reasoning to bench Batum for that.

Who starts out guarding LeBron, Kobe, Carmello, Iguadala, Joe Johnson, Wade....If you put Roy on those guys, you're asking him to use up a lot of energy on the defensive end. If you put Outlaw on any of those guys, you might as well just plan on getting completely dominated at that position.

On top of that, we're already giving up a lot on defense at PG by going with either Miller or Blake. We can afford to start a bad defender at one position, but not at two positions.

Batum should start because he's the most consistently good defender on the team under 7 feet.

Oden vs Przybilla is debatable at this point. Hopefully Oden destroys Pryz at training camp.

Outlaw's so bad as the 4th offensive option. Doesn't move well without the ball, doesn't pass well out of a double team or in a movement offense (around the horn, etc.). He's great as option #1.5 off the bench though. I'd start Nicolas, who's good without the ball, and use Outlaw as the super sub...

Generally, the three positions are 32 minutes - 12 minutes - 4 minutes:

    Miller - Blake - Bayless
    Roy - Rudy - Bayless
    Batum - Webster - Rudy
    Aldridge - Outlaw - Joel
    Oden - Joel

First Unit: Miller, Roy, Nic, LMA, Oden

Off the bench: Blake, Rudy, Martell (Cunningham?), Outlaw* (Cunningham?), Joel.

    Nuff said

*At least until he's packaged up with Bayless and somebody else by the February trade deadline.

You've got Nic playing backup 4?????

    I would do this.

    Miller\Blake\Bayless
    Roy\Rudy
    Batum\Outlaw\Webster
    LMA\Cunningham
    Oden\Joel

Webster gets no love until he major steps it up in practice or someone else gets injured.
Oden gets a shot to start, but I would move him to pine if he fucks it up again.
I would run DC at all the backup 4 I can get him. I want that guy to play.
Miller starts for sure, no doubt. He is a better player. Hands down. That way, I also feel safe with 2nd string PG, unlike last year when Sergio was in and I would have a heart attack every time he touched the ball.

After reading/watching that post on BEdge, it's obvious why Nate likes Outlaw at the backup 4. We clearly run a ton of pick-and-pops, and Travis is pretty good at that play. Travis could knock down an open shot. Channing couldn't, so Travis took over at the backup 4. He's basically a shorter, skinnier version of LMA in our offense.

I think there's a good chance we see Martell as the starting small forward, if he's healthy.
