Heavy talk on sherdog that he is giving up title. Doesn't want to fiht wrestlers or jiu jitsu guys. Strikes only. Hendo and marquardt for title ? Someone research I'm in class posting from iPod.

Just the other day Ed Soares said at that press conference that Silva won't fight for a while because he has some bumps and bruises to heal up. He never once mentioned anything like that. I won't beleive it until its actually Silva or Soares say it, not a source of a source of a source.
Re: Silva to vacate title ^ Yeah, that is true. Silva will probably fight again in 2010 but not sooner. The most likely scenario right now seems to be Henderson vs. Marquardt at the NYE show, and Silva vs. a light heavyweight on the same show. It would make it easier to schedule Silva vs. the winner three or four months after that.
Re: Silva to vacate title Talked to my boy Heath today and yeah, these rumors from Sherdog are just a pile of shit. He said Hendo most likely is going to have to face Marquardt and is not happy about it.
Re: Silva to vacate title With the announcement that Silva is having elbow surgery, Hendo/Marquadt makes a lot more sense. They need a big fight to keep up interest in the division, with the marquee guy on the shelf.
