Two game suspension and counseling. And I'm a Beaver fan!

He was provoked. He apologized. Suspension and a talking to should be enough. I don't understand our society lately where people are screaming for heads. People make mistakes. I also want to see the idiot who provoked him punished but word is nothing is going to happen to him other than a talk.

What are you going to punish Hout for? Tapping him on the shoulder or trash-talking. If you're punishing for trash-talking then you might as well suspend the entire NCAA in every sport.

A 3 game suspension to me is pretty hefty. The guy needs to make a good example for his team, team conduct, and him generally representing the school. Any sort of suspension should make him clear up his head but nothing done is unjust.

I'm not suggesting suspending every mouthy numbnutz. In Hockey, if you provoke a guy until he smacks you, you get punished as an instigator. Why is that so foreign of a concept here?

Wellllll....I don't really have a tail so that might suggest I didn't take him seriously.

I'd admit it was funny but he took a shot at my Beavs so I concede nothing.

There are several factors at play here.

    A) The initial Hout/Blount confrontation wasn't that big a deal. Suspend them both for a game or 2 for being immature douches, and move on.

    B) Blount's subsequent meltdown is a bigger issue and deserves more of a punishment.

    C) Blount is a lazy, immature underachiever who doesn't belong on the field - even if he was a saint off the field. He had earned a benching long before the first punch was thrown.

    D) The vultures - from Crapzano to *some* OSU fans are screaming for blood. If the AD gives in once, the vultures will set up permanent residence. Sometimes, you need to close ranks and tell the busybodies to go fuck themselves. I would rather see Blount go unpunished, than see Crapzano get the notion he can bully the program.
