- via RealGM This is something everybody knew except David Hahn and the rest of the NYC media. NY sports media is out of touch with reality but at least they keep everyone entertained!
The NY media has the most lopsided homer proposals all year long. Totally unrealistic expectations, as if other teams are gonna go out of their way to give the Knicks one-sided deals.
Newsday is saying NY will try again for Rubio. I'm sure Minnesota are just salivating at the prospect of obtaining Lee/Robinson (players they have absolutely no need for) and the rest of their craptacular talent. It's like Charlie Brown and the football. Just give it up, Walsh.
I don't think anyone from the media said that acquiring Rubio was realistic. Walsh is only doing his job as a GM and seeing who is available. Considering that Minnesota drafted two PGs with high lottery picks and then signed another young PG to a 4-year deal, it might suggest that one of them is available. In addition, so far Kahn's moves have been questionable at best, therefore what may appear "lopsided" to you might not to Kahn. Lastly, Rubio is rumored to want to play for the Knicks and not for the Wolves. If such is the case, again, it's a good move by Walsh to see if he can swoop in and get Rubio for less.
