I'm excited to see what he does this year. I have this feeling that he is going to blow up and finally look like that draft choice we thought we were getting back in 05

I don't think a whole lot of people really believe in Martell anymore. I think he's going to break out this year and be a very important part of this team. Miller/Roy/Webster/LMA/Oden has everything you need in a lineup. It's going to be hard for teams to double down on LMA or Greg with Roy/Webster hitting outside shots.

I agree. I think Martell and Andre are going to give this team a real shot in the arm offensively and they will be tough to stop.

They might even challenge for Most Points Per Game average by nba team. Again. All this depends on Sarge.

Martell... Oden and Miller will have a huge impact on how well the Blazers do this year. If Oden or Martell explodes... we will be sitting pretty. I have faith in Webster. None of them need to do it all... they just need to be a piece of the puzzle.

Martell will need minutes to "blow up" - I doubt it'll happen.

Well, he will have to earn them. And I think the will. Being polished will help him do that.

Canzano just stated that Martell has been cleared to play five on five.

    Finally.

When did they start putting Turtle Wax on Webster?

    lol.

I just think that Webster is the more polished player between he and Nic and even he and Outlaw. That should show up in training camp. If it does, than he should see plenty of time.

Last season I was very stoked about Martell and I expected him to have a breakout season.

This season, I'm nervously optimistic, but less so. I will of course be ecstatic if he lives up to the expectations I had of him last season.

If Nico improves on schedule and Martell is the player he was in last year's preseason, we don't need a SF upgrade, at all.

I wish Martell all the best and if he pans out to be something more than a so-so shooter with a sweet sweet looking stroke I'll be stoked, because God knows this team could use some more honest to god talent to help solidify 3 spot, but somehow I'm constantly reminded of his fairly atrocious 2 pt shooting and mediocre 3 pt percentages for a so-called shooting specialist.

In any case, good for him. I'm glad he's healthy and ready to contribute ... whatever shape that contribution takes.

Gotta remember how young Martell is....He shouldn't have came out of high school, physically he is NBA ready but the mental part of the game is still coming to him. I think his first few years were a reflection of his immaturity and lack of confidence. Last year it seemed he was more confident than he had ever been and ready to be a solid contributor to the squad. This year shouldn't be any different. I expect him to take a few weeks (into the regular season) to get used to the speed of the game but with all the talent we have, training camp might take care of that process. For those who doubt, Martell WILL have a solid year and he WILL make the team a lot better all-around.

His rookie year we heard he had an NBA ready body and game and every year since he was poised to break out. Those who doubt have been paying attention to the results thus far, so you'll have to excuse us for eventually growing a bit cynical that he's going to metamorph from a below average NBA player to something useful. Though the chances of this happening are probably pretty low, I doubt any Blazer fan is rooting against it happening.

I don't want to come across like I'm hating on the guy, because I really would like to see him succeed, but there is absolutely nothing in Martell's past performance to suggest that he's ready for some big breakout ... :dunno:
