To be fair to Serna we would have won that game if Newton hadn't decided to prance down the sideline slowly with his arms out stretch only to get the ball knocked out of his hands.
Re-read my statement..let's talk a few games into the Pac-10 season. With the # of freshmen we have, a complete loss of the secondary, etc..it's rebuilding. It doesn't mean automatic suckage..just that we're rebuilding. Let's bury the hatchet, ok? We're supposed to be on the same team.
The secondary is a big concern, definitely. Hopefully they'll start to gel as we make it into the Pac-10 games and the offense will become more cohesive. On the plus side Canfield so far is showing really nice decision making and a high percentage of completions.
I dunno..Canfield at times looks like the savior at QB...like at the end of Arizona and the end of this game. But often times he just looks like a frosh. He holds the ball a few times getting sacked when he should just toss it into the stands. Hopefully he gets into a groove before Pac-10 play. Our brother tandems seem to have already put it into full gear.
One of the worst wins I've ever seen. That 4th quarter was pitiful. It was like they were trying to lose. Gonna be a long season unless they get their act together.
The announcers tonight where horrible! James Rodgers and the announcer just said the defense played great. REALLY!?!?!
Yeah, it was laughably bad. If I could pick it up, I'd have turned up the radio and turned town the TV sound. Not pretty. At all. But I'll take it and sleep much better than if the FG attempt hadn't been good.
OSU better watch out for Cinci next week...they looked vicious vs. Rutgers @Piscataway earlier this year..their QB Tony Pike is going to test that young secondary. If this were at Cinci, I'd say Cinci by 14+, but OSU plays tough at Reser, the classic "pick em"
Yes, Cinci is going to be a difficult team to play against. The offense needs to step up this week and review its tapes before this game.
Did you guys see that story in the Oregonian dated Monday Sept 7, 2009 of the comparison between U of O vs Oregon State in the NFL? 1999 4 OSU players and 20 UO players in the NFL 2009 20 OSU players and 20 UO players in the NFl. Its amazing how OSU has turned around with recruits, talent for competitiveness in the Pac-10.
