The protests of the left were hardly praised as being "true Americans", even by the more "liberal" news outlets. Even when their #'s were significantly larger than the 75K at this recent "protest", there wasn't the kind of praising that Fox is giving the 9/12 people.
I thought the point of the 9/12 supposedly, is to work together and promote progress like after 9/11? Shouting about the president being various negative things, doesn't sound like "working together". Or do i have the wrong premise of 9/12?
I believe that was the point. The concept is good, uniting a country together instead of just bickering, but the way that they went about conducting it, was poor and just propagated the same kind of divisive behavior they claim they're trying to rid the country of. But it's kind of hard to take them (or anyone) serious when they have signs comparing Obama to Hitler, Nazi's, Socialist, Russians, Communists and Fascists, and implying he wasn't born here. Or can't name many (or any) of the programs he's proposed that they hate, or think calling someone a Czar is proof of anything more than just a government (and press) that is lazy about using someones whole title in their name. I don't recall hearing many people calling GW Bush horrific names on 9/12, or accusing him of several things that are just factually untrue (those came years later, and were far more obvious in foreign countries than our own).
Being involved in social services, you must realize that there are a lot of good people who actually need social services to get their life back on track. There will always be those who take advantage of gov't money. I think unemployment benefits are incredibly abused by lazy and dishonest people out there, but that doesn't mean we should cut unemployment benefits. I don't how we expect to fight a war and global recession and not expect taxes to go up. I don't believe cutting social services even more than they have already been cut is a good alternative to not increasing taxes.
