    Mike Rice's alter ego (confucious?) is full of shit. Mason never made sense for this team but has Rice ever been right about his 'inside sources'?

    Either Basketball-reference or basketball prospectus had an article with evidence that Mason was far and away the worst player getting regular minutes in the NBA.

    So I am kind of glad Portland ever even tried to get him.

    Merlin is a fraud. Predicted Desmond Mason would get one of the final two roster spots and also predicted Juwan Howard would not sign with Portland.

    I like this signing. He brings them an exciting player, while he may be inconsistent, he can still contribute. He'll be nice off the bench.
