On a humorous note it is funny listening to this color commentator for FSN randomly add and take off a S from the last name of some players.
and their defense too. That last play by Cinci, where they scored in like 3 plays with 50 something seconds to go, was pathetic. Canfield seems to be reverting back to his his previous crappy play. Might as well try someone else if he's going to continue getting sacked and throwing shitty passes.
It'd would help the offense show up if the O-line wasn't stinking. I realize many of them are new or at least inexperienced but wow..I haven't seen Canfield scramble this much since the USC game when he got injured and I have a hard time believing Cincinnati's D is as good as USC's was.
Well, the problem with the D really is..the O. The O isn't even making first downs that often. That means a lot more chances for the Cinci O. Cinci is a high-powered offense and you can make stops but you can't stop them every time....so when they get 100 chances they're going to score X # of times. Quizz looks out of it today, maybe resting all week hurt? I just don't know what they can really do other than try some dump passes to get rid of the blitzes.
I agree. The D did fine in the first quarter and parts of the second - but they're getting no help at all from the offense and it's mostly on the offensive line. Sacked five times in the first half and I'm surprised Canfield hasn't shown any signs of being gimpy yet.
Really hoping the offense can keep this up - if they give the defense some breathing room I think the defense can help keep this close and give the offense a chance; provided they show up for more than this one series.
