Re: UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort (Sep. 19th)

it's when someone submits someone with their words. Probably called cro cop washed up. jk, it's when one of the fighters quit verbally, basically tapping with words.

so, Daley basically wrecks Kampmann. What's next? Swick/Daley? Koscheck/ Daley?

Re: UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort (Sep. 19th)

I was pretty sure Belfort would be able to KO Franklin. He is fast and he hits hard. I guess now he should fight Marquardt while Hendo and Silva go at it again. Franklin is back to the drawing board. A great fighter with no title hopes. Franklin vs. Ortiz may be worthwhile, supposing Ortiz can get by old man Coleman.

Junior dos Santos looked a little gassed in his fight with Cro Cop... but he does so much damage with his strikes. Getting Cro Cop to verbally submit (not to groin shots) is huge. I guess when Velasquez beats Rothwell they can have Velasquez vs. dos Santos for the next number one contender.

Semtex knocking out Kampmann was a surprise because I thought Kampmann would get him down and submit him. Daley's take down defense was great against Shields and maybe Kampmann had more difficulty with him than he was expecting. Daley erases Kampmann's title hopes for the time being. Maybe they will have Semtex vs. Koscheck next?

Trigg looked like hot garbage. The stoppage was a good one; he wasn't defending himself. Koscheck hits hard but he seems to have peaked. Without being willing to fight his teammates I don't know where he goes from here. Trigg probably shouldn't be in the UFC but they will give him another fight against a lesser opponent. Hughes would probably take that fight.

Tyson Griffin was able to stop Hermes Franca, but lets be honest--Franka didn't look himself. Like, at all. Whatever caused him to miss weight (illness? injury?) took the life out of him. All he had for Griffin was one flurry during the fight. Otherwise he was plodding and slow. Maybe they'll have Griffin fight Maynard next?

McFedries looked pretty bad. He needs to develop his game. If he can't knock someone out right away he is always in for a long night. Drwal looks strong at 185.

    Steve Lopez's shoulder looked fucked.

Nik Lentz doesn't look the part but he is a scrapper.

Rick Story vs. Brian Foster was pretty exciting. Those two fought to get noticed.

They did show the Marshall or Matyushenko fights. For some reason they showed Story vs. Foster on both broadcasts. Must not have been worth watching--or maybe they saved them for UFC on Demand.

Dos Anjos looks like a good lightweight prospect. Emerson's leg was tenderized and purple. Why is he Robert now and not Rob?

    "No Mas"

Cro Cop indicated to the ref he couldn't see and thus couldn't continue.

Yeah, probably Koscheck/Daley. Hughes probably won't fight Koscheck.

Re: UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort (Sep. 19th)

I'd like to see Hughes drop down to 155 if he could do it. I would have some interest in a Hughes/Penn 155 fight. At 170 there isn't a whole lot for him.

Re: UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort (Sep. 19th)

    $60,000 bonuses went to:

Rick Story & Brian Foster (fight of the night)
Rick Story (submission of the night)
Vitor Belfort (knockout of the night)

Story must've passed out when he was handed a $120,000 bonus check.
