In his rookie year, limited to 21.5 MPG due to injuries, conditioning and foul trouble, Greg Oden averaged 8.9 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

If he can cut down on the fouls enough to average 30 MPG, and produces at the exact rate he did as a rookie, his averages will go up to 12.4 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 1.5 BPG.

Will you be happy with this production from Oden, or do you expect more?

I'm the one dude with the vote who wants to see more from him. I think the stat that made decide to vote that direction is the block shots. I'd like to see at least two blocks a game out of him. He was compared to Bill Russell coming out of college. Defensively, I'd like to see more out of him. Offense is one thing. The defense is another.

He was averaging over 2 BPG early in the season, but became less aggressive to cut down on the fouls. His BPG really tanked the 2nd half of the season. If he can cut down on the stupid hip check fouls, he can go back to being a more aggressive shot blocker. That combined with better lateral quickness and greater explosiveness should cause a jump in his BPG.

I think I'm at the point with him that I could care less about the offense. I mean if he scores great. But, I want to see an absolute animal out there on defense. It wouldn't bother me at all to see him direct all his resources to the defensive end.

I'm not going to vote because of the word "great." I would say that would make me happy. But not great.

I will be satisfied with that offensive production because it will mean he's on the floor long enough to make a huge impact defensively. Defense and rebounding will always be his greatest value.

If you honestly believe that Oden is a "once in a generation" center, then those numbers are horrible. Otherwise, they are perfectly acceptable.

Would be satisfied, yes, but I think we will see closer to 14-15 PPG from him this year. I think a lot of people are going to eat a lot of crow about Mr. Oden this upcoming year.

I want a few more rebounds, and i want more than half of them to be on the offensive glass, and i also want aldridge to pick some defensive boards up, points and blocks look good to me.

if oden can start getting us second chance points the way some of the pf's and c's get we will be golden... thinking specifically like scola, gasol, lopez... that sort of stuff.

so many games lost by one shot, a couple more offensive boards and we wouldn't have seen the rockets. i know his defense will be solid if he gets that many minutes, but with a 5 pt starting sf we need a touch of offense too... so let those points come from rebounds, not open court dunks and fast breaks.

I would guess he'd average around 12 rebounds/per if he can stay out of foul trouble.

The guy, whom I bashed all of last season, averaged 7 rebounds in 20 foul plagued minutes/per.

Oden certainly showed signs of being a great rebounder last season - in spite of all his other difficulties. However, only one player in the entire NBA averaged 12 RPG last season. Do you really expect Oden to be the 2nd best rebounder in the entire league in his 2nd season? It would be great if it happened, but I think 10 - 11 RPG is more realistic - and that would still make him a top 5 rebounder.

I voted no because I think he'll improve his rate of production. If dude averages 30 MPG it will largely be because he's staying out of foul trouble. If he's able to stay out of foul trouble some of it will be because of having a year of experience with the league/refs under his belt, but some of it will be because his lateral quickness will have improved to the levels most initially expected. A quicker Greg Oden will crush skulls

I think the replacement refs might hurt Greg in terms of foul trouble and we all know that's what kept his numbers down. I would, however, be happy with those numbers.
